#MissionMarvelous

100 Days to Childhood Cancer Awareness Day

From November 8, 2025 through February 15, 2026 (International Childhood Cancer Day), we’re on a 100-day mission to bring Mia the Marvelous Lab Explorer to hospitals, clinics, libraries, and classrooms across the world. Each donated book opens a conversation about childhood leukemia, celebrates the power of science, and reminds families that every diagnosis deserves answers.

About the Campaign

#MissionMarvelous is a 100-day challenge led by Dr. Lotte Mulder and Dr. Kamran Mirza, co-authors of Mia the Marvelous Lab Explorer, in partnership with My Book Wish Michigan Chapter. The campaign culminates on February 15 — International Childhood Cancer Day.

Our goals:

  1. Support families and patients facing childhood leukemia through the comfort of story.

  2. Inspire a love of science and medicine in young readers who might one day change the world.

  3. Celebrate the heroes behind the microscope—pathologists and laboratory professionals who bring answers and hope.

Our 100-Day Targets (>1000 books!):

  • 100 childhood leukemia/oncology clinics

  • 100 community libraries

  • 100 school libraries

Be part of Mission Marvelous and help us reach February 15 with 100 places touched by Mia’s story. Follow the movement and share using #MissionMarvelous and
#IMetMia.

Any proceeds from campaign-related sales beyond publishing costs will support the creation of the next Mia story, ensuring that her adventures continue to spark curiosity and compassion in future young readers.
